Everyone was concerned about Max....for a little while.
Max was left behind in his backyard as the product of a divorce. His original owners got him as a tiny puppy but as time passed and he and their problems got bigger, they started to neglect him. One day Max found himself outside and locked up in the backyard of his now-abandoned house. He was checked on every so often and given a little water and food. Imagine Max outside all by himself for weeks on end in the stifling Florida heat!
One day a kindhearted lady saw how he was being treated and knew he needed a way to escape so she posted a plea on Facebook for someone to save Max! It was then that a Sarasota Coordinator for 4 Lucky Dogs Pet Rescue saw him and decided to be his angel! She and our Sarasota 4LD team knew they had to save him! She contacted the owner and received permission to take Max out of the backyard and rehome him. Another lady with cats had also volunteered to adopt him. As soon as Angelica Vaca-Wolff got Max, the owner ceased all contact. Unfortunately, Max likes to chase and play with cats and he is much too big to do so without injury, so his adoption opportunity also fell through.
Max is a 6 year old male American Bulldog weighing in at a whopping 100 pounds! Max loves everyone he meets! Especially children! Once upon a time Max had his very own boy, whom he loved more then anything. Now he would want nothing more then to have his very own little boy or girl again! Max is very calm and loves just hanging out with people. He is potty trained and crate trained. He know basic obedience. He gets along great with dogs of all shapes and sizes. He is on an exercise program and has lost his first 5lbs!
Max just had a wellness exam at the Sarasota Humane Society and tested heartworm free and is up to date on shots and microchipped. Max is currently living in a foster home to find his very own family. Despite all that's happened to him Max is still a lover! He deserves a second chance at a good life with a family he can love.
