Ben is a 30-lb, non-shedding terrier mix who is only about 4 years old and very energetic. He needs an active and energetic owner as well. Ben is house trained, non-destructive, and is trained to use a doggy door. NO CRATES for Ben but he can be gated in an area fine. Ben was a rescue from a Thailand meat farm. Due to his journey from Thailand, crating is not recommended. If you need to crate a dog, then Ben is not the dog for you. (This includes flying and driving). He loves lots of walks and also needs a place where he can feel safe to run  as he  is uneasy and fearful in dog parks . Ben  will not be recommended for a home with frequent loud noises, other dogs or any young children. Rather a calm and structured environment for Ben will be best, where he can build his self-confidence. Although he has lived with another dog for years, he can be dog-selective and  dominant when he is introduced to new dogs and can be territorial if another dog  enters his home. Cats are an unknown. An ideal home for him would be with someone who has experience in helping young dogs overcome their fears and knows how to help Ben build his self-confidence. Ben currently gets professionally groomed once every 8 weeks, and is located in the Sarasota, FL area.

Ben will come neutered, microchipped and up to date on shots.  A small rehoming fee of $100 applies.
