COURTESY POST:  Scout is a beautiful, friendly and spirited 2-year old Saluki mix who was rehomed last fall but through no fault of his own, now finds himself in need of a new home again. He’s happiest playing fetch; playing with his toys; taking walks; running (supervised) off-leash; accompanying his owner on bike rides; and following his “person” inside and outside the house.  He is leash trained, but only needs a leash for his safety as he is always near his “person.”  Scout is high energy - he walks, runs and bikes several miles most days - and he’s lots of fun!  Scout has hyper-bonded to a single family member.  While he positively interacts with others, if his “person” is nearby, his objective is to stay with or get to and be with that person. Although Scout was lightly crate trained, he now no longer wants to be confined. He also doesn’t want to be alone and barks a distressed bark when left behind.  He has many toys to keep him occupied and challenged, but is too stressed when alone to play with them. Scout needs an active home where he is the only pet.  He is cautious around new people, but if approached slowly, is polite when meeting others.  He does not like people wearing hoodies!  He is a good watch dog alerting when he hears a doorbell or knock.  He is not always comfortable with other dogs and carefully watches and avoids others when possible.  He is distrustful at the dog park and does not want to engage with other dogs when there.  He will run from other dogs and when they run after him they seem to confirm that he should be fearful.  He plays only with family members outside.  It’s unknown how Scout behaves around cats or other animals. Scout paces while secured during car rides but opening a window helps.  Scout walks on a leash and knows many commands - Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Off, Place and NO.  He can Fetch a tennis ball, Drop It, Shake hands, and Find It.  In the past he was known to enjoy swimming. 6-ft plus fence required as Scout has demonstrated  an ability to scale a 6-ft chain link fence. House trained-Yes. Obedience training needed - has basic training. Exercise needs - high. Grooming needs - moderate, recommend daily brushing. Shedding amount - moderate   He's current on shots, HW preventative, flea/tick preventative. Neutered and Microchipped. Please apply for him at www.4luckydogs.org. Scout is a Courtesy Post and as such is listed under 4 Lucky Dog’s Community “Rehome 4 Life“ Program. A $100 donation to 4 Lucky Dogs Pet Rescue is suggested from Scout's new owner(s) upon his successful adoption.
