Meet Roxie!
(Courtesy Post/Rehome 4 Life Program)
Roxie is a stunning probable Blackmouth Cur/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix who is extremely calm and quiet and well-behaved in her home. At just over 18 months old, Roxie has impeccable household manners, has very little destructive chewing, does not bark often and is completely housetrained. She is a great family dog and older children are always recommended as she is over 65 lbs. When Roxie is outside, her hunting instincts naturally kick in and squirrels and lizards are her weakness!! This has caused a frustrating tug-of-war with her current owners while out on walks so further leash work and additional training is recommended. Roxie was recently treated for heartworms and will need to be gradually reintroduced to exercise slowly over the next few months. This will actually be a great opportunity for Roxie to bond with a new strong, experienced owner, who preferably has experience with curs/ridgebacks. Roxie may also do best as an only dog as she may not have had much socialization up until this point. When Roxie is fully recovered from her treatment she will need to be in the type of environment where she can be mentally and physically stimulated. The apartment she lives in now with no backyard to run and play and hunt lizards is not the place for her forever home. This incredibly smart and loyal girl is a treasure and will be an amazing companion for life!! Please apply for Roxie at www.4luckydogs.org. Roxie is a Courtesy Post and part of 4 Lucky Dog’s Community “Rehome 4 Life“ Program. A $100 donation to 4 Lucky Dogs Pet Rescue is suggested from Roxie’s new owner(s) upon her successful adoption.
