4 Lucky Dogs is not a shelter or facility where dogs can be viewed, as all of our rescue dogs are in various loving foster homes throughout Florida. We do not adopt outside of the state of FL at this time. If interested in one of our dogs, please fill out an application at www.4luckydogs.org, and you will be contacted if you are a fit. Sandy & Coco are COURTESY POSTS for their owner and a $100 donation to 4 Lucky Dogs Pet Rescue, Inc. is suggested upon their successful rehoming. You can apply for them both at www.4luckydogs.org.

-Sandy -Behavior/Personality- She is friendly once she feels comfortable, until she feels comfortable she will stay in her kennel and isolate herself. She likes to be with her sister or lay in the bed or kennel with her blanket. She doesn’t like to be in a room full of people she will go hide In the room until they leave or she will go into the kennel. She loves the sun and laying outside for a few. She loves treats. She loves to cuddle and lay under blanket. She will cuddle with you once she feels comfortable until then she will lay in her kennel we leave the door open she doesn’t like it closed she gets sad. She uses the puppy pee pad or she goes outside. She doesn’t do well in public she gets scared and will run. Must be on leash. If she can’t find a puppy pad or doesn’t know where it is, she will hide in corner and use bathroom in the corner somewhere. She is scared of small children. She will hide from them. She doesn’t like to be around big crowds or yelling. If you scream someone name out loud or anything she gets scared and goes and hides. -Coco -Behavior/Personality- Coco is a free spirit she will roam around the house she will follow you around. She does good in public if you take her out. Once she gets use to you she will listen to commands like come here or don’t go over there. She is independent more than sandy. She is braver than sandy. She may try to nip someone who tries to approach her too fast or if someone tries to go near her sister. She protects sandy but sandy is older than her. (Well was born first) she also loves the sun and being outside. She loves her sister. She also loves to Cuddle under a blanket with you. Just call her and she will come if she feels comfortable. She doesn’t like being in kennel with door closed she will bark until you let her out. She is trained to go on puppy pad and outside. If you leave the bathroom door open she will go potty in bathroom it’s something about the bathroom she loves go in there on floor. Coco does good in big crowds. If you yell around her she will bark at you. Bonded Sisters At night we have them sleep with us since they were babies. But they will also sleep inside of kennel with blankets and the door open or they will cry all night. They will also sleep on doggy bed with blanket. They don’t have a feeding schedule I leave their food and water out daily in their bowls. They like to share food bowls if you feed them in separate ones they will go to the same one and both eat out of that one. They both know their names and if they feel comfortable they will come when you call them. You cannot cut their nails on your own unless you are experienced. They both understand these commands: - No - go outside - go to the kennel - good girl - bad girl - treat - lay down - sit -stay - bath The kids call them sandy mama and coco mama and they also respond to that. They are really good dogs. They are quiet most of the time. If someone knocks on door they bark, if someone enters the home they don’t know they will bark we tell them go to the back and they go to the room or go to the kennel and they go to the kennel. Typically they will lay with you as long as you have a blanket. They are always shivering. They love blankets. They don’t play with toys. They need to be walked on a leash until they feel comfortable with you and then they will walk next to you and won’t run. They play with other dogs as long as they are friendly. They get along with cats as long as the cat is not trying to attack them. We had a cat for 3 years and they did great. But our cat was laid back and relaxed. They eat dog food hard food, not soft if will give them diarrhea. Every now and then when we cook a big dinner we will make them a plate for each with meat and other things they can eat. But we try not to get them use to table food too much. But they love table food. The kids will always give them scraps so they do sit quietly patiently waiting for some food to fall to the floor or scraps (leftover meat or anything else you don’t eat) They will eat soft treats. No bones or hard treats they will just smell them and walk away. (I will attach pics of the food and snacks we buy them). Coco needs to have her food cut into pieces (table food) and Sandy will swallow everything. She always eats table food fast as she gets excited. Coco will sometimes take what you give her to her kennel she likes her privacy. They do not like baths when they hear "bath" they will run away. When we put them in the tub they will try to jump out of you are not looking. Sandy will jump up on beds if you call her and she can jump down. Coco has a hard time getting up you have to pick her up and she can get down on her own. There has never been any issues with them peeing on furniture, tearing up things, or chewing things...Never. Until they get comfortable with you do not open door because they will run out because they are scared. Once they are comfortable you can have the door open and they will sit there and look until you call their names. They do warm up fast as long as you are gentle, don’t approach them fast, don't yell at them and once they feel comfortable they will try to protect you if someone tries to harm you. They also dance if you stand there and pat your legs they will dance and spin around. Once they are comfortable they will play with you. If you leave the house it’s safe to leave them out of the kennel. We leave the kennel open and they go in to lay down and come out to roam around.
