Fuzzy is a 4-year-old female Pomeranian who weighs about 9 1/2 pounds. There are two versions of pictures of her in this posting – one before her haircut and one after her haircut. Fuzzy’s hair was very long and uncomfortable for her when the rescue received her. It needed to be cut down a lot but will grow back to the Pomeranian style.

Words to describe her are calm, sweet, cuddly, adorable, and happy. If you are looking for a companion who is satisfied sitting next to you while you watch television, or a dog to take on walks, or an animal who likes to curl up on your lap, then Fuzzy is the dog for you!

On the first day at her foster home Fuzzy found a big pillow next to a chair and made it her ‘place’ laying there all the time. Then she managed to find every pillow in the house and tried them out showing she is very relaxed just ‘hanging out’.  Her foster family jokes that she sits on her pillow throne as a princess would. In her second week with her fosters Fuzzy was given a dog bed that was circular and partly enclosed and loved it. Now anytime she wants to sleep or observe she curls up in that bed.

She loves walks. Fuzzy easily walks for 30 minutes and is focused straight ahead. In the backyard at her foster home, she looks around for a bit then goes to the bathroom and wants to immediately come back in the house. But when the harness and leash are being put on, she gets very excited and runs to the front door wanting it to be opened so she can go out for her walk. She is very well-mannered when returning from the walk waiting near the door for someone to remove her walking gear. Her adopter will need to be someone that likes to walk because of how much Fuzzy enjoys them, plus it is good exercise for her since she is not really a backyard-kind of dog.

Fuzzy only plays with a toy for about two minutes. She is the type of dog who likes to watch the activity going on around her or if she participates it is just for a little bit. Her foster family will throw a small ball which she loves running after trying to catch. Or she will pick up a toy and carry it to another room but then moves on to doing something else. She will interact with foster family members greeting them when they come home or walking around checking on them. But her activity level is low where she prefers to lay in her own space.

She is sometimes vocal and barks at activity outside or noises in the house. When people are eating at the dining table Fuzzy randomly barks at them. The foster family is guessing Fuzzy was hand-fed from the table because of how she seems to expect food and is barking to say “give me some”. If the adopter does not want this barking to occur it will be training correction the adopter must be willing to do.

Fuzzy is an owner-surrender because the older woman that owned her since she was 11 weeks old passed away. The owner’s family chose to give her to 4 Lucky Dogs Rescue deciding it was best for the dog to start over again in a new home with someone to love her and give her all the attention she needs. Fuzzy is used to living with an adult and after her foster family has gotten to know her, they suggest she goes to a new forever home with only adults living in it.

After spending time with Fuzzy we also recommend that she be the only dog in the household. The reason is she wants human companionship or wants to be alone. She gets along with her foster dog sister, but Fuzzy is not the type who is a playmate for another dog. Instead, she likes to do what she wants to do when she wants to do it. For example, in the evenings Fuzzy likes to go to her dog bed while the other dog gets out all her toys insisting on play time. Fuzzy will be involved what the family is doing or follow the other dog around but then ultimately goes to somewhere to lay.

The average lifespan for this type of dog is 15 years. Fuzzy’s adopter will need to be prepared to care for her for around 11 more years so she will not have to move to a different home again.

Her adoption fee is $400. This dog comes microchipped, spayed, and up to date on shots and vaccines. You can apply for her at www.4luckydogs.org.
