**We are a foster-based rescue with no shelter or facility to view our dogs, and our address is a mailing address only. Please be patient as we are an all-volunteer rescue and our rescue dogs are in various loving foster homes throughout West-Central Florida. As a general rule we try to limit our adoptions to within the state of FL. If interested in one of our dogs, please fill out a foster or adopt application at www.4luckydogs.org, and we will contact you by phone/text if we feel your application is the best fit out of the ones received.**

Kona is a gorgeous 40 pound petite labradoodle that is looking to celebrate her 2nd birthday at the end of next month with her new furever family. She was rehomed due to changing life situations and elderly people in her household. Her foster says Kona is a total love bug and an absolute joy, but is still a big puppy so she needs someone who is available and home most of the time to meet her needs, and help her continue to thrive. Kona requires a fenced yard to run and play and burn that puppy energy off (no exceptions!), as she enjoys fetching her tennis balls. She also loves to take a nice walk around the block each day and is great on her leash, and she wouldn’t mind having a pool so she can show off what a great swimmer she is.  When she gets excited and she’s playing she may run right into you, so homes with young children she can knock over will not be ideal. Kona is not a fan of cats but is learning to be ok with dogs that are ok with her, and around her size. She has always lived as an only dog and is a bit undersocialized. She is doing absolutely amazing with her training and needs a leader who is committed to continuing to show her the ropes, as she has already learned lots of tricks she wants to teach you. Kona also has a bit of a sock fetish, and on occasion likes to swallow things that are not food, so her new home must NEVER leave her unattended, until she hopefully outgrows this habit (FYI she’s NOT a chewer though, just a swallower). Her foster family reports she is already doing much better about “leaving it” and they’ve only had one actual incident in the 2 weeks they have had her. She likes to do what you’re doing and be right by your side, and will happily snuggle up on the couch with her head on your lap for hours. She is also great on car rides and knows what “bye bye” means and will run to the door when she hears it. She requires a home with a stay at home parent because Kona loves nothing more than being with her humans, and doesn’t like to be left for long. Kona also has a condition that causes her mild dribbling right after her potty breaks. This condition has quickly improved and possibly be eventually eliminated with a prescription she started the day she entered our care, called Proin which costs less than $20 a month (and she will come with a months supply). She will need to remain on it for the time being and be monitored in the future for any adjustments by her adopter's vet. Kona sleeps perfectly all night in her crate and even knows what “go night night” means. **The adoption fee for this dog is $400.00 and he/she will come microchipped, neutered/spayed, up to date on all necessary vaccines/rabies,  heartworm tested and dewormed . Please apply at www.4luckydogs.org.**
