Aspen is about 8 month old, 30lb female looking for a foster to adopt home. She was an owner surrender and has been living with one of our fosters while she received her vaccines. She still needs to be spayed but that can be done while she is in her new home.
Aspen is high energy and is not going to be a good fit for those that are looking for a low energy type dog. She will require regular exercise.
Aspen loves people and other dogs! She will require a fenced yard, although supervision at all times will be necessary so she doesn’t get into anything she shouldn’t. Palm fronds seem to be her favorite toy.
she will need continued training. She likes to jump when excited and will go after her foster sister food bowl. Her foster is working on sit and stay and she has shown progress but sometimes her energy drive is just too high to hold back.
because of this, we prefer a home with older children. Preferable 8+ as she could knock a small child over. Again, training is key.
foster thinks Aspen would be good with another playful dog, might help release some of her energy, but also really likes her people. So we would consider homes without another dog. But family would have to be active. Family also must allow her to be an inside dog. She is not to be left tied up outside for any length of time. Our dogs are adopted out as family members, not lawn ornaments.
seems she enjoys the water a little bit. Having visited the lake, she was seen going in about belly deep.
cats are unknown but from what we hear about her energy level, it’s probably best to not have any cats or other small animals in the home.
she rides well in the car and is buckled in for her safety, which she doesn’t seem to mind.
Although she is a doodle, she presents with a more flat coat. Therefore, she sheds. She is not, nor is any doodle, hypoallergenic. People with allergies should not apply.
please understand that any doodle breed has high grooming needs. They need to be brushed regularly and groomed professionally at least every 8-10 weeks. These grooms could cost upwards of $150+.
