Hawk is a 1 1/2yr old Pit bull terrier mix. He weighs 60lbs, is neutered and current on vaccinations. Hawk was rescued by his current foster from Hillsborough County Pet Resources in January to tend to his medical issues. Hawk had been shot several times. He was treated for the bullet wounds and is now healed. A bullet was removed from his neck and some fractured teeth and bone fragments had to be removed. At the shelter, volunteers noted he had a very good temperament even with his wounds. Hawk is a very friendly boy.  He may be a little protective at first and bark at you, until he meets you. Hawk really needs a strong leader that is familiar with his breed. He is good with older kids, right now he lives with an 11 and 8yr old. Hawk is a high energy boy and would do great with an active person or family. He loves to go for walks and runs. He has basic training and walks well on a lead. He is house and crate trained, and rides well in a car.  A single dog family would be preferred for Hawk, but a meet and greet can be arranged if you have another dog. On lead he does great with other dogs, but off lead he is a rough player. Hawk has a very high prey drive, so no cats, small animals, or livestock. Hawk is a great dog and is waiting to find his perfect home.
